Street in Illinois named after Palestinian boy who was murdered

A street in Illinois has been named in honor of Wadea Al-Fayoume, a six-year-old Palestinian American boy who was fatally stabbed in a 2023 Islamophobic attack. Authorities reported that Wadea was murdered by his landlord due to the family’s Muslim faith. The naming serves as a memorial to raise awareness about hate crimes and the impact of Islamophobia in society.
