Stranded woman, child, tortoise, and cat rescued in Hawaii

The US Coast Guard and Navy rescued a mother, her child, tortoise, and cat from a sailboat off Hawaii during Hurricane Gilma after the captain died. The Joint Rescue Coordination Center Honolulu received an alert from an emergency radio beacon on August 25, locating the stranded family nearly 1,000 miles off the coast.
