Greater Anglia has become the third train operator to be nationalised as part of the UK government’s Great British Railways initiative, bringing services from London to Essex and Cambridgeshire under public ownership. The Labour party aims to improve service reliability and simplify ticketing, while future nationalisations are planned for West Midlands Trains and Govia Thameslink Railway by mid-2026.
