Cuba reports four dead, six injured in boat confrontation

Four individuals on a Florida-registered speedboat were killed and six others injured following a confrontation with Cuban Border Guard troops near Cuba’s coast. As the troops approached for identification, those on the boat opened fire, injuring the commander of the Cuban vessel. The Cuban Ministry of the Interior stated that the injured were evacuated and received medical assistance. Cuba emphasizes its commitment to protecting its territorial waters and sovereignty.
