Homeland Security claims hotel canceled reservations for immigration agents

The Department of Homeland Security accused Hilton Hotels of canceling reservations for immigration law enforcement officials in Minnesota, alleging a coordinated campaign. However, it was later revealed that the hotel is independently operated by Everpeak Hospitality, which apologized for the incident. The hotel’s actions were not in line with Hilton’s values, and they are working to accommodate impacted guests while reaffirming their commitment to welcoming all individuals and agencies. This comes as DHS plans to deploy agents for fraud and immigration investigations in the Twin Cities region, with a focus on Somali-run childcare centers and undocumented Somali immigrants.
