Court to decide on ICE re-detaining Kilmar Abrego Garcia.

The federal judge overseeing Salvadoran native Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s immigration case is set to hear arguments on whether ICE can re-detain him for deportation to Liberia. Abrego Garcia was released in December after a judge found his detention unlawful, but a removal order was later added to his record. Despite a court order barring his deportation to El Salvador, he was deported and later brought back to face human smuggling charges. His attorneys are seeking sanctions against the Trump administration for making extrajudicial statements about him.
