A 10-year-old girl with Type 1 diabetes died after her mother allegedly delayed seeking medical care during a family road trip. The mother, Lloydina McAllister, has been charged with first-degree manslaughter, facing accusations of failing to provide life-saving care despite prior training on the risks of diabetic ketoacidosis. Investigations revealed the mother passed multiple hospitals en route to Tacoma, where the girl was pronounced dead. McAllister has pleaded not guilty, and her trial is set for late December.
