Mega Millions Jackpot Approaches $1 Billion Before Friday Drawing

The Mega Millions jackpot has reached an estimated $980 million, making it the eighth largest in history, after no ticket matched the winning numbers in the previous drawing. The prize’s cash value is $452.2 million, available as a lump sum or in annual payments. Since the last jackpot win on June 27, there have been 40 consecutive drawings without a winner. Although no jackpot was won recently, over 809,000 tickets won smaller prizes totaling more than $27.9 million.
