95-Year-Old Woman Charged with Murder of Roommate

A 95-year-old woman, Galina Smirnova, has been charged with second-degree murder for allegedly beating her 89-year-old roommate, Nina Kravtsov, to death at a Brooklyn nursing home. Kravtsov, a Holocaust survivor, was found non-responsive with severe injuries; the alleged murder weapon was a blood-stained wheelchair foot pedal, and Smirnova is currently held without bail.
