Snapchat influencer Caryn Marjorie, known as @CutieCaryn, developed an AI chatbot named Caryn AI to engage with her fans, charging $1 a minute for interactions. Although it initially garnered $70,000 in its first week, the AI began producing troubling and false narratives, leading to concerns about user mental health and prompting Marjorie to shut it down within a year. In contrast, virtual influencer Imma, a CGI creation managed by Aww, Inc., successfully collaborates with brands and engages audiences without the complexities of human emotions.
