Human Remains Discovered on South Carolina Beach
Tourists exploring a beach property on Edisto Island, South Carolina, mistakenly identified human remains as fossils, leading to the discovery of a forgotten burial site dating back 200 years. The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, which is historically significant as part of the 19th-century settlement Edingsville Beach, and the remains have been sent for forensic analysis. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities working to identify the individual and the circumstances surrounding their death.
