Explosion on Hudson River Vessel
A vessel transporting sewage exploded while docked in New York’s Hudson River, resulting in one worker’s death and two injuries. The U.S. Coast Guard reported the explosion occurred at around 10:30 a.m. near a wastewater treatment plant, linked to “hot work” aboard the vessel named Hunts Point. The deceased, a 33-year veteran of the Department of Environmental Protection, has not been identified, and the incident is under investigation, with no suspicion of criminality indicated by Mayor Eric Adams.
