Former mafia ‘street boss’ allegedly plotted to kill feds, prosecutors say

Longtime gangster Ralph DeLeo, the former “street boss” of the Colombo crime family, has been accused by federal prosecutors of plotting to murder three individuals involved in his 2012 conviction. DeLeo, 82, who was released from prison last year, was arrested after authorities discovered he was gathering personal information about federal officials for purported “retribution.” With a criminal history dating back to the 1970s, including a murder conviction, prosecutors have requested his detention, citing his ongoing threats and violent tendencies as significant dangers.
