A federal judge questioned a Justice Department attorney about inconsistent statements from the Trump administration regarding over 200 alleged Venezuelan gang members sent to El Salvador’s CECOT prison. U.S. District Judge James Boasberg highlighted Trump’s claims of being able to facilitate the return of a deported individual, while the DOJ maintained that the migrants received minimal notice prior to their transfer. The judge indicated he would address the issue of constructive custody and possible violations in future hearings.
