What You Need to Know
• Stellantis is recalling nearly 850,000 vehicles in the U.S. due to a rearview camera software issue.
• The recall affects Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicles from model years 2026 to 2027.
• An additional 107,000 vehicles are being recalled in Canada, Mexico, and other markets for the same issue.

Automaker Stellantis announced on Monday that it is recalling approximately 850,000 vehicles in the United States due to a software problem that may disrupt the rearview camera display. The recall includes Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicles from model years 2026 to 2027. Stellantis has reported no known accidents or injuries related to this software glitch. In addition to the U.S. recall, the company is also recalling 107,000 vehicles in Canada, Mexico, and other international markets for the same issue. Affected U.S. models include the 2026-27 Chrysler Pacifica, Voyager minivans, 2026-27 Dodge Charger, and various Jeep and Ram models. Owners will receive an over-the-air software update, and Stellantis advises drivers to use mirrors if the rearview display is malfunctioning.

Why It Matters

This recall highlights ongoing concerns regarding vehicle safety and technology reliability in the automotive industry. Rearview cameras are critical for safe reversing, and software issues can pose significant risks. Stellantis, formed from the merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and PSA Group, has been working to enhance its technology offerings amid increasing competition in the electric and autonomous vehicle markets. The company’s proactive measures, such as over-the-air updates, reflect a growing trend in the industry to address software-related issues efficiently.
