The FIFA international break has concluded, and the Brasileirão resumed with six matches on Wednesday, October 1. Botafogo, still without a head coach, secured a vital 3-2 victory over Mirassol, propelling them out of the relegation zone. Meanwhile, São Paulo and Internacional played to a 1-1 draw, disappointing fans of both teams. Bahia achieved a convincing 3-0 win against Athletico-PR, who had started the round in second place, allowing Bahia to rise into the top four. Cruzeiro celebrated their first Brasileirão victory under new head coach Artur Jorge with a 3-0 win over Vitória. Vasco remained unbeaten under Renato Gaúcho, drawing 1-1 with Coritiba, while Fluminense defeated Corinthians 3-1 to claim second place, a match notable for the ejection of Corinthians midfielder Allan for an obscene gesture.
