SpaceX loses Starship mid-flight, but catches booster again after launch

SpaceX launched the seventh test flight of its Starship rocket, but lost communication with the upper stage midflight, indicating a likely breakup. The Super Heavy booster successfully returned to land at the launch site, marking SpaceX’s second successful catch during a flight from their private “Starbase” facility near Brownsville, Texas. Kate Tice, SpaceX’s senior manager of quality systems engineering, confirmed the loss of the ship about nine minutes into the launch.
