A teenager, Axel Rudakubana, appeared in court via videolink for a plea and trial preparation hearing at Liverpool Crown Court, facing 16 charges including three counts of murder for allegedly stabbing three children at a Taylor Swift-themed holiday club in Southport. The victims were identified as six-year-old Bebe King, seven-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe, and nine-year-old Alice da Silva Aguiar. The attack, which occurred on 29 July, also resulted in 10 counts of attempted murder, possession of a knife, production of ricin, and possession of information related to terrorism. Rudakubana, 18, did not enter any pleas and was remanded in custody until a further preparatory hearing on 12 December, with a trial set for 20 January next year lasting four to six weeks.
