The United States has cancelled the Ssangyong joint amphibious landing exercise with South Korea, originally scheduled for next month, due to resource constraints linked to the ongoing US-Israel war on Iran. The US Marine Corps informed South Korea in June about the limitations on force deployment. This decision follows President Donald Trump’s directive to reduce the Ulchi Freedom Shield exercises, which were cut from 11 days to five, amid rising tensions with North Korea, which recently launched missiles and condemned the drills.
