South Carolina’s measles outbreak has reached nearly 800 cases, surpassing a previous outbreak in Texas, with 789 confirmed cases reported by the health department. Most cases are unvaccinated children, primarily in Spartanburg County, and 18 individuals have been hospitalized. The U.S. recorded over 2,200 measles cases in 2025, the highest in decades, with over 400 cases reported in 2026 so far. The outbreak has led to quarantines in 20 schools and public exposure at various locations.
