The South Australian government is implementing new laws to combat street gangs by enhancing police powers and preventing gang recruitment. Proposed measures include treating street gangs similarly to outlaw motorcycle gangs, creating a new offense for recruiting gang members, and allowing courts to impose restrictions on gang participants. Attorney-General Kyam Maher emphasized that these reforms aim to strengthen law enforcement’s ability to protect the community and deliver justice for crime victims.
