Son killed mother after she took his TV remote

Surjit Singh, 39, murdered his 76-year-old mother, Mohinder Kaur, after a dispute over a TV remote, leading to a violent attack where he kicked and stamped on her. Singh, who was under the influence of alcohol and cocaine, was sentenced to life imprisonment at Birmingham Crown Court, having previously pleaded guilty to murder.
