Snow and ice warning added to wind warnings for some counties with wintry conditions ahead of Christmas

Met Éireann issued a snow and ice warning for Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Leitrim, and Louth from 10pm Saturday until 9am Sunday, with possible hail, sleet, and snow leading to poor visibility and difficult travel conditions. A status yellow wind warning is in place for various counties until Sunday afternoon, with windy conditions, showers, and temperatures between six to 10 degrees expected. Showers will continue into Monday, with temperatures rising to 10 to 13 degrees, while Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and St. Stephen’s Day will be mostly cloudy with little or no change in temperature.
