Sir Alex Ferguson is set to step back from his ambassadorial role at Manchester United at the end of the season due to cost-cutting measures following Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s minority stake purchase. The legendary former manager, who won numerous titles during his tenure, has been earning over £2m annually in the role since 2013.
