Singapore Telecommunications (Singtel) announced a 9% increase in its full-year underlying net profit, reaching S$2.47 billion, driven by the strong performance of its Australian unit Optus and regional associates like Airtel and AIS, despite falling slightly short of analysts’ expectations. The company’s Optus unit saw a 5.7% rise in earnings, and contributions from associates rose 13%, largely due to Bharti Airtel’s significant profit growth. Singtel also declared a final dividend of 10 Singapore cents per share, up from 9.8 cents the previous year.
