Liz Guidera, the first female president of the Shire of Katanning, was awarded life membership at the 2025 WA Local Government Association awards for her significant contributions over 31 years. Recognized as a fierce advocate and mentor, she expressed pride in paving the way for future female leaders and was recently appointed chair of Regional Development Australia Great Southern.
