East Pilbara Australia Day Events

The Shire of East Pilbara celebrated Australia Day on January 26 by welcoming 33 new citizens during a ceremony at the Newman Community Hall, attended by over 100 community members. Notable attendees included Phil Twiss MLC and Shire CEO Steven Harding, who welcomed the new Australians. The festivities continued at the Newman Aquatic Centre with family-friendly activities, including a free sausage sizzle and live music. Shire president Cr Anthony Middleton praised the event as a wonderful reflection of Australia Day spirit.
