Mustafa and Nesma al-Borsh’s wedding was a modest event in Gaza, attended by 40 guests in a tent. Shortly after their celebration, Israeli shelling struck a nearby shelter, which had been designated for the couple’s new home, leading to chaos and tragedy as Mustafa shifted from groom to rescuer. Despite enduring repeated displacements and the loss of family members due to the ongoing war, they attempted to celebrate love amidst despair, but their joyous moment turned into a nightmare. Following the attack, they were left homeless and separated from their families, wearing the remnants of their wedding attire.
