In January, Israeli settler violence and harassment in the occupied West Bank led to the displacement of nearly 700 Palestinians, the highest number since the 2023 Gaza war, according to the United Nations. The forced removal of an entire herding community in the Jordan Valley contributed to this increase, with 130 families leaving due to sustained harassment. Settlers often target Palestinian communities through intimidation and violence, with the backing of the Israeli government and military, leading to ongoing displacement and destruction of property. In addition to settler attacks, Palestinians in the West Bank also face displacement from home demolitions and military raids, with over 180 people displaced in January alone.
