Serbia sentences man to 20 years in prison for one of 2 mass shootings that shook nation last May

In Serbia, Uros Blazic, 21, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for killing nine people and injuring 12 in a mass shooting in two villages near Belgrade. The shootings occurred a day after a school shooting in central Belgrade, leading to protests and a crackdown on illegal gun ownership. Blazic’s father was also convicted for illegal gun possession, and Blazic himself expressed remorse in court, admitting to his actions and accepting the maximum sentence allowed for his age.
