Wildfire destroyed B.C. fire hall in 2023; rebuilding underway

Two years after the Scotch Creek Fire Hall was destroyed by the Bush Creek East wildfire in August 2023, construction of a new facility began on November 19, 2023. The new fire hall, designed to be fire-resistant and located at 1435 Beatty Rd., will feature five bays and a community hall for training. Derek Sutherland described the project as a “phoenix from the ashes,” symbolizing resilience. Completion is anticipated by August 2026.
