Mothers of Murdered Daughters Share Their Experiences

Mina Smallman lost her daughters, Bibaa Henry and Nicole Smallman, in a racially motivated attack in June 2020 while they celebrated Bibaa’s birthday. Their murderer, Danyal Hussein, held extremist beliefs and was later sentenced to a minimum of 35 years in prison. Mina continues to advocate for justice and change within the police, especially after officers shared disrespectful images of her daughters. She emphasizes the need for greater awareness and protection for women of color in light of ongoing issues within law enforcement.
