Students Get Sick from Contaminated Falafel

As many as 55 people, primarily schoolchildren, fell ill after consuming falafel contaminated with human waste at a restaurant in Irbid, Jordan, which was quickly shut down. Tests confirmed the presence of E. coli and Shigella in the food, with several victims hospitalized and health officials stating that treatment protocols are in place and the situation is under control.
