Abdirahman Yalahow, a 29-year-old from Walsall, has been sentenced to six years and six months in prison for defrauding vulnerable elderly individuals out of £100,000 by posing as a police officer. Between August and December 2024, he manipulated his victims into providing their bank details and cards over the phone. Det Sgt Angela Warren-Smith emphasized his blatant disregard for the victims’ wellbeing, viewing them solely as targets for theft. Yalahow was apprehended after police discovered incriminating evidence at multiple addresses.
