Saudi Coalition: STC’s al-Zubaidi Flees to UAE via Somaliland
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The leader of Yemen’s secessionist Southern Transitional Council (STC), Aidarous al-Zubaidi, fled to the UAE via Somaliland, skipping planned peace talks in Riyadh, as reported by the Saudi Arabia-led coalition. He departed from Aden to Berbera and then flew to Abu Dhabi, turning off the plane’s identification systems during transit. This move may escalate tensions between Saudi Arabia and the UAE following recent conflicts over territorial control in southern Yemen. Al-Zubaidi has been removed from the Presidential Leadership Council, with calls for legal action against him for “committing high treason.”
