Rashad al-Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, says Homeland Shield forces have achieved ‘record success’ in retaking the provinces near the Saudi border.

Yemeni government forces, backed by Saudi Arabia, have regained control of Hadramout and al-Mahra from the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC), marking a significant escalation in regional tensions. Rashad al-Alimi announced the successful retaking of military positions, including the key port of Mukalla. Following heavy fighting, at least 80 STC fighters were killed, while the STC expressed willingness for dialogue with Saudi Arabia. The Yemeni government has also accused the STC of imposing movement restrictions in Aden, calling for their immediate end.
