American climber Sasha DiGiulian has made history as the first woman to free-climb El Capitan’s longest route, describing it as the “most formative and challenging climb” of her career. Over 23 days, including nine days waiting out bad weather, DiGiulian and her partner Elliot Faber ascended the 3,000-foot granite wall in Yosemite National Park via the Platinum route. Despite difficult conditions, they completed the climb, showcasing DiGiulian’s commitment and resilience as a world champion climber.
