Sam Moore of the Dynamic Soul Duo Sam & Dave Is Dead at 89

Sam & Dave toured extensively but struggled with drug abuse, leading to a rift between them after their final performance in 1981. Following Dave Prater’s death in 1988, Sam Moore found stability in his personal and professional life with the help of his wife Joyce, leading to accolades such as induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1992 and a lifetime achievement Grammy Award in 2019.
