Tipene Funerals ex-employee Fiona Bakulich burial scams: Undertaker to be sentenced today

Auckland funeral director Fiona Bakulich is set to be sentenced for defrauding clients by mishandling bodies, including wrapping them in plastic instead of the coffins paid for. Her offenses spanned from 2017 to 2024, impacting at least 11 victims and totaling over $15,000. Tipene Funerals co-owner Francis Tipene has apologized for Bakulich’s actions and their distressing consequences for affected families.
