‘Ruthless assault on human life’ in Sudan, Gaza ceasefire must hold says relief chief, World Cancer Day

Clementine Nkweta-Salami expressed concern over the escalating violence in Darfur and Kordofan, condemning indiscriminate attacks on civilians and the use of starvation as a weapon of war by the Sudanese Armed Forces and Rapid Support Forces. UN relief chief Tom Fletcher emphasized the importance of maintaining the Gaza ceasefire, protecting civilians, and providing aid to those affected, during his visit to Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory. WHO marked World Cancer Day by honoring those affected by cancer and highlighting global efforts to improve cancer treatment and care, including initiatives to eliminate cervical cancer and provide medicines for pediatric cancers.
