Rutgers fends off Virginia Tech to remain undefeated

Rutgers defeated Virginia Tech 26-23 with Jai Patel’s 24-yard field goal in the final minutes. Despite losing a 16-point lead, Rutgers secured its first road win of the season and extended its nonconference winning streak to 10 games. Virginia Tech had a chance to respond, but ultimately fell short in the final drive of the game.
