At the Munich Security Conference, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin has done more to strengthen NATO than member states, with the addition of new members and increased spending. Graham proposed that a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine include automatic NATO membership for Ukraine in case of future Russian invasion, as a deterrent. He emphasized that Putin’s actions have inadvertently bolstered NATO’s solidarity and resolve.
