The “Combat Witches of Bucha” is a group of suburban Ukrainian women, including professionals like a veterinarian, teacher, and pastry chef, who have come together to form a female air defense unit to protect their community from drones following the 2022 invasion. Traumatized by the violence inflicted by Russian troops, the women use their training as a form of therapy. One member, Tetiana, lost her husband, a journalist turned soldier, during the invasion.
