Rubio states US will pursue alternatives if Iran negotiations collapse

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that a solid agreement is being negotiated with Iran regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, amid ongoing tensions from the US-Israeli conflict. While a ceasefire has been in place since April, Iran continues to block the strait, and the US maintains a naval blockade. An anonymous US official indicated that Iran has agreed in principle to dispose of its highly enriched uranium in exchange for lifting the blockade, but confirmation from Iran is pending.
