Rubio says US is revoking all visas held by South Sudanese passport holders

Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the revocation of all visas held by South Sudanese passport holders, citing the government’s failure to cooperate in accepting the return of its citizens. In addition to revoking existing visas, the U.S. will also prevent further issuance to South Sudanese passport holders to prevent their entry into the country. The fragile political situation in South Sudan, marked by escalating violence and tensions, has prompted international concern and calls for intervention to prevent the country from descending into another civil war.
