New Public Holiday Established for Royal Show

The Perth Royal Show will gain a new public holiday, Show Day, starting in 2028, coinciding with the first Monday of the September school holidays. This change, part of a broader shift to add two public holidays, aims to celebrate the show’s rich agricultural heritage and community significance while aligning WA with other states, although it may increase employer costs by $147 million annually.
