Wana Aramoana and his family were evicted from their rental property after he made threats to “smash” the property manager, which were deemed “abundantly threatening” by the Tenancy Tribunal. The manager felt unsafe returning to the property as the threats followed earlier intimidation from Aramoana’s daughters, leading her to fear for her safety. The NZ Property Investors Federation has emphasized a zero tolerance policy for violence against property managers and landlords.
