In a NCAA Tournament first-round game in Providence, St. John’s Red Storm defeated Omaha Mavericks 83-53, with RJ Luis Jr. scoring a career-high 22 points and making five 3-pointers. St. John’s, the second seed, earned their first tournament win since 2000 and will face Arkansas in the second round. The Red Storm’s sharp shooting, including 14 3-pointers, overwhelmed Omaha, who struggled offensively and were outrebounded in the second half.
