Rights groups condemn Iran’s ‘abhorrent’ execution of protester
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Rights groups have strongly criticized Iran for executing a protester, labeling the act as ‘abhorrent.’ The condemned individual, Navid Afkari, was accused of killing a security guard during anti-government protests in 2018, a charge he denied. International organizations have called for an end to Iran’s use of the death penalty for political purposes, with Amnesty International asserting that Afkari’s trial was unfair and based on forced confessions.
