Supreme Court declines family’s bid for man’s release after 20 years in secure care

A family has taken their case to the Supreme Court to secure the release of a 41-year-old autistic man who has been in care for nearly 20 years due to minor offenses. Although the appeal partly succeeded in challenging the Court of Appeal’s decision, he will remain in a secure facility due to the risks he poses to himself and the community.
